Peter Kreisky
Peter Kreisky is founder and president of The Kreisky Media Consultancy, LLC., a top management consulting boutique that specializes in strategy and business transformation issues in the media and entertainment industry, particularly at the interface with technology. He is also a Senior Advisor to The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He focuses on publishing in all its forms: magazines, newspapers, books, journals, digital media, the Internet, as well as on television, movies, music, education, information, and advertising.
An internationally recognized expert on the media industry, he speaks regularly at industry conferences and is quoted frequently in publications such as The Economist, Business Week, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, LA Times, USA Today, Advertising Age, Folio, National Journal and Bloomberg.
With bases in New York and Boston, Kreisky Media is set up as a virtual firm, able to draw on a wide network of partners (individual practitioners and firms) who bring specialized knowledge and capabilities to address specific client problems and opportunities. Prior to establishing The Kreisky Media Consultancy in 2002, Kreisky was at Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman) as head of its worldwide Media and Entertainment Practice. Earlier, he was with CBS Inc., where he was responsible for the strategies of some 30 business units, including magazines, books, newspapers, software, television, interactive video, and information services; with Thought Leaders, Inc., a software start-up he co-founded; and with McKinsey & Company, in New York, London and Amsterdam.
Kreisky grew up in Great Britain, is a graduate of Cambridge University and holds an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. He sits on the Publications Board of The New England Journal of Medicine and is a long-time member of the Media Council of The Paley Center for Media. He is on the teaching faculty of Stanford University's Professional Publishing Program, and also is teaching this year at NYU's Center for Publishing and Columbia Journalism School's Sulzberger Leadership Program.
