Linda Austin
Linda Austin started the Sulzberger Program as the editor and vice president of the Lexington Herald-Leader in Kentucky. She completed the program as executive director of the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She has also been executive editor of The News-Sentinel in Fort Wayne, Ind., and managing editor of the News & Record in Greensboro, N.C. She spent 12 years at The Philadelphia Inquirer in a variety of roles, including business editor, graphics editor, assistant managing editor/finance and editor/publisher of the monthly PhillyTech magazine. Her other newspaper credits include the Dallas Times Herald in Texas, The Straits Times of Singapore (as a Luce Scholar) and the Winston-Salem Journal in North Carolina. A native of Charlotte, N.C., she graduated with highest honors from the University of North Carolina School of Journalism and is pursuing a master’s degree in educational technology at Arizona State.
